Ingredients Organic Millet
Common Uses Can be used to make a nutritious side dish or a hot cereal or porridge. Millet can also be added to soups, stews, and salads. add 1 cup of millet to 1 cup of water or stock, bring to the boil then cover and simmer for 25mins.
Nutritional Aspects Macronutrients: Millet contains mainly carbohydrate (71g/100g) mostly in the form of starch and a small amount of dietary fibre (8g/100g) compared to other whole grains. It has more fat than other grains as well at 4g/100g and less protein at 11g/100g (more similar to rices) in dried grain. Key micronutrients found in significant levels in millet include manganese, copper, phosphorous and magnesium. Folate, thaimin (B1) and niacin (B3) are present in smaller amounts.
