Ingredients: Organic Dark Agave Syrup
Common use: also called agave nectar, is a low GI natural sweetener. Agave syrup is sweeter than sugar and is often substituted for sugar or honey in recipes. It is suitable for vegans. Drizzle it on fresh fruit and natural yoghurt for breakfast or add it to your baking as an alternative sweetener.
Nutritional Aspects Agave Syrup has negligible amounts of protein and fat, containing mostly carbohydrates in the form of natural sugars (mainly fructose) and actually contains 1.5 times the amount of sugar for the same amount of table sugar. It contains some potassium and sodium that aren't found in table sugar, but they occur in relatively small amounts when considering the entire diet.
