Nutritional Aspects Sugar: Dried Apple contains mainly sugars (approximately 62g sugar per 100g), with very little protein or healthy fats. In particular most of the sugar in dried apples is in the form of fructose which may can cause digestive issues in some people when consumed in high amounts. Diets high in sugar result in increased risk of dental caries, Type 2 diabetes, obesity and CVD. However, when mindfully consumed in appropriate quantities, dried apples do contain some fibre and a decent proportion of potassium and make for great additions to trail mixes and mueslis.
